Vera Vicenzotti
Presentation
Vera works at the intersection of landscape theory, critical and cultural geography, political philosophy, history of ideas, and aesthetics. She has been interested in different kinds of landscapes, peri-urban, post-industrial, and wild, both urban and non-urban – and most importantly in the ideas of and discourses surrounding these landscapes. In her research and teaching work, she is becoming more and more interested in the methodology and epistemology of landscape design, and in thinking about the political agency of landscape design.
Vera has a background in Landscape Architecture. She has both her Diplom (which roughly equals a combined Bachelor and Master degree) and her doctoral degree from the Technical University of Munich (Germany) in that field. She is also associate professor (sv. docent) in Landscape Architecture (SLU, Sweden).
Teaching
Vera is teaching in the landscape programmes at SLU (Ultuna) on all levels of the higher education cycle. She is leading and teaching in the Bachelor thesis course in the Landscape Architecture (EX0861) and the Landscape Engineering (EX1004) programmes. She is also responsible for the course Landscape architecture and text (LK0420). In addition, she is supervising and examining Master theses in the Landscape Architecture and Landscape Architecture for Sustainable Development programmes.
