On 1 January 2018, the Marie-Claire Cronstedt professorship in wildlife ecology will be formally established at the NJ Faculty. The subject field of this professorship is wildlife ecology, focusing on wildlife and wildlife damage to the agricultural landscape. Professor Petter Kjellander will be responsible for the subject area.

In 2012, thanks to a donation from the Marie-Claire Cronstedt Foundation, Petter Kjellander was recruited by the Department of Ecology as professor of wildlife ecology at the Grimsö Wildlife Research Station. After receiving a proposal from SLU, the board of the Marie-Claire Cronstedt Foundation approved continued grants for 6 years to Kjellander's operation. In light of this, the NJ Faculty has approved and will partly fund a new subject area: wildlife ecology, focusing on wildlife and wildlife damage to the agricultural landscape. The professor responsible will be Petter Kjellander. The subject area will be called "Marie-Claire Cronstedt's professorship in wildlife ecology", and is part of the effort to develop the wildlife ecology subject at SLU while also meeting the foundation's goals.
