Karin Holmgren proposed as acting vice-chancellor

The SLU Board has decided to propose to the government to hire Professor Karin Holmgren as acting vice-chancellor of SLU from January 1, 2019 until further notice, but only until a new vice chancellor is in place. Karin Holmgren is currently deputy vice-chancellor.
The background is that the current vice-chancellor, Peter Högberg, ends his assignment as vice-chancellor on December 31. Before a new vice-chancellor is in place, a temporary solution is required.
If the government decides to hire Karin Holmgren as vice chancellor, the University Board intends to appoint Erik Fahlbeck as acting deputy vice-chancellor. Erik Fahlbeck is currently pro vice-chancellor in charge of external collaboration.
