The Swedish Chicken Farmers’ Foundation has awarded SLU a 3.75 million grant for a five-year research effort in the field of poultry medicine, targeted at researchers specialising in chickens.

Swedish chicken production is known for its far-reaching requirements for disease control and animal protection.

‘To maintain our high quality, we need more research in veterinary medicine and we need more competence when it comes to providing advice on the health and diseases of chickens’ explains Henning Trozelli, chair of the Swedish Chicken Farmers’ Foundation.
