Elina Åsbjer at the Swedish Centre for Animal Welfare was interviewed in Swedish media to give tips on what to consider before buying a dog.

This is a short summary from a text written by SVT nyheter.
What is the most important thing to consider when buying a dog?

Check that all papers are in order. Usually, unreliable people say that you will get the papers later, however you should always get all the papers before bying the dog. Ask to meet the puppy's parents, or at least the mother. Check that the mother is registered with the Swedish Board of Agriculture. The puppy must be inspected by a veterinarian, chip-marked and vaccinated beore the sale. You as a buyer must also get a proper purchase contract, not just a name and telephone number.
