Christian helps cows find the perfect partner

Christian Bengtsson is one of SLU's industrial PhD students in food research in the project LivsID. Now, he has come halfway in his project on breeding cows with the help of DNA information.

Christian grew up on a farm with dairy cows and has thus always had a great interest in cows. He is employed by VikingGenetics and is a doctoral student at SLU within the LivsID program. VikingGenetics is a company that works with innovative breeding for healthy and problem-free animals that require little antibiotic use, while a good milk yield is in focus.
