Open call for dog-human PhD projects

Published: 30 March 2022

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at SLU together with the Companion Animals Research Fund hereby opens a call for five PhD projects within all areas of comparative medicine involving dogs and humans. This call is possible because of the generous legacy gift from the late Birgitta Carlsson. Her donation has formed the foundation of Skriftställare Birgitta Carlssons fond at SLU.

The call is open to researchers within all subjects and disciplines. Proposed PhD projects should be collaborations within One Health and be of importance for a better understanding, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of diseases and disorders common to dogs and humans. Illnesses and mentality in the colie breed have precedence. The projects should contribute to long-term strategic collaborations and exchange of scientific knowledge in a way that will benefit the VH-faculty, SLU. The description of the PhD project should be understandable by researchers with a PhD at the VH-faculty.

Deadline is 15th of June
