The research and environmental monitoring vessel Svea is moored at Stigbergskajen in Gothenburg between 19 and 23 April 2023 for maintenance.

Svea is mainly used for environmental monitoring in the waters around Sweden with monthly expeditions to measure water quality and fish stocks.

Right now, Svea is in Gothenburg to make it easier for the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) to keep its scientific instruments on board.

To avoid disturbances for fish and other organisms in the sea, Svea is built to minimize noise disturbances from the ship, this also means that noise that may disturb nearby residents when Svea is at the dock is minimized.
