Three researchers visiting ET this week

The Department of Energy and Technology and the Agricultural Technology and Systems group at SLU are hosting three visiting researchers from Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development (HU), Egypt this week (w. 20 2023). They are coming via an Erasmus mobility between SLU – HU.

The visiting researchers are: Prof. Dr. Gouda Kamel - President of HU, Prof. Dr. Fawzy Ali - Dean of the Faculty of Organic Agriculture, and Dr. Shimaa Khatab - Vice dean of the Faculty of Organic Agriculture.

The visit is part of an ongoing international collaboration and global work between Dr. Dalia Abdelfattah (Agricultural Technology and Systems group, SLU), Dr. Assem Abouhatab (Nordic African Institute) and the visiting research group from HU – Egypt. The joint research team is working on investigating the potential of waste-to-energy applications from Agro-Industrial waste in Egypt. Preliminary discussions with local experts and field visits in Egypt revealed a high potential for such applications.
