
Nina Lind Ranneberg

Nina holds a PhD in Psychology from Umeå University and has been based at the Department of Economics since 2015. She leads the Basic Method Course in Business Studies (FÖ0447) and supervises students at all academic levels. Her interdisciplinary research bridges psychology and business administration, with a focus on how dairy farmers make decisions regarding animal health. Drawing on psychological theories, her work aims to understand what drives proactive health practices in livestock management. Nina collaborates across departments in several transdisciplinary projects related to animal health and decision-making.
Research
Nina's research focuses on decision-making within the interdisciplinary fields of psychology and business administration. Her current work explores how dairy farmers make decisions related to animal health, aiming to understand the psychological drivers behind proactive health management in livestock.
She is actively involved in several transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects related to animal health, using psychological theories to investigate what influences decision-making and how perceptions of illness in dairy cows can motivate preventive action.
Teaching
Nina is the course leader for the Basic Method Course in Business Studies (FÖ0447) and serves as a supervisor for students at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.
Mistra Food Futures Academy
Nina serves as the coordinator for Mistra Food Futures Academy, a cross-disciplinary platform aimed at developing the next generation of researchers in sustainable food systems. In this role, she is responsible for planning and leading activities that support the academic and professional development of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers within the programme. This includes coordinating seminars, study visits, and a structured mentoring programme that connects early-career researchers with key actors across the food system.
