Entry Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to 50 credits in Agricultural Science. This should include a minimum of 15 credits in Animal Biology and 10 credits in Technology.
Objectives
On completion of the course students will have the qualification to lead operations in animal husbandry, and through advanced knowledge in various aspects of the production of farm animals the students will be able to understand, apply, analyse, and evaluate different production methods and systems through a sustainable approach.
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- know the conditions for production management and production evaluation in animal husbandry with specific focus on increased precision and analysis
- design, apply, analyse, and evaluate practical solutions for animal husbandry and feed for ruminants and assemble them into systems based on advanced biological, technical and economical knowledge
- from a sustainability perspective, analyse and evaluate conditions of animal husbandry in an international perspective
- analyse and evaluate environmental and ethical aspects, and also human roles for animal husbandry
Content
The course is mainly based on lectures, reading of the literature and case studies. Students also have the opportunity to carry out individual work and study visits. In the case studies and the individual projects, students can specialize in certain animal species.

Approved written and oral assignments and approved participation in mandatory activities.
