Master's thesis in Biology, A2E - Degree of Master of Science in Forestry
Course description
The course includes conducting an independent, academic work (thesis) under supervision that contributes to knowledge and development with relevance for sustainable forestry operations in a broad sense, where the work's connection to ecological, economic and/or social values is highlighted.
An independent work is a work where you apply your in-depth knowledge, abilities and approaches to an issue within the field of education. The independent work is often at the end of your education where you plan, carry out and present an academic study. Your work is published publicly. See also https://student.slu.se/studier/examensarbeten/
As a student, you are responsible for identifying and choosing a suitable task for the independent work. In order to be admitted to the course, you must have made an agreement with the supervising institution regarding the supervisor and topic of the work before the start of the course. Therefore, contact the course leader or potential supervisor well in advance about the possibility of doing independent work at an institution. The department can provide information about the registration code that applies and other practical information about the implementation, e.g. where the work can be carried out.
The course meets the requirements for independent work (thesis) for the forester's degree.
