Accepted for exchange studies – before and after your stay

Page reviewed:  10/12/2025

Before your leave

Learning Agreement

Before traveling abroad, all exchange students must submit a Learning Agreement. This is a tripartite agreement between you, your programme director at SLU (PSR) or Erasmus coordinator, and your host university. The Learning Agreement will help ensure that the credits you earn abroad can be transferred to your degree at SLU. You will receive instructions from the Mobility Team on how and when to complete it.

SLU accepts two versions of the Learning Agreement: the digital learning agreement or the PDF template version. You must choose one version; you do not need to use both. Both the digital Learning Agreement and the PDF template can be found in the MoveON Exchange Portal under “Forms”.

After completing your studies abroad, you must apply to transfer your credits so that your courses count towards your SLU degree. More information is available on the Student web page about credit transfers. Applications for credit transfer are submitted in Ladok Student.

After your exchange studies

Travel report

Once you have completed your exchange studies, you must submit a travel report (you will find the template in the MoveON exchange portal under “Forms”). The purpose of the travel report is to provide information and inspiration to other students who are interested in exchange studies.

Credit transfer

When your studies abroad are completed, you must apply for credit transfer so that your international studies can be counted towards your degree. You will find more information on the Student Web on the page about the recognition of foreign qualifications. You apply for credit transfer in Ladok Student.

If you need to interrupt your exchange

Contact the Mobility Team if you need to end your exchange earlier than planned. If this is due to circumstances beyond your control, the Mobility Team can apply for a ’force majeure’ on your behalf. In case of an interruption, make sure to contact both the Mobility Team and the International Office at your host university.
