Internship/placement within or outside your study programme
In the menus below, you will find checklists outlining the requirements for different types of internships funded by an Erasmus+ grant.
Even if your degree programme soes not include an internship course, you can still build an international profile by arranging your own internship abroad.
The internship/placement must be carried out as one continuous period at a company, organisation, or institution. It should be full-time and last 2-12 months, and the credits must be transferable to SLU. You can be awarded a grant for a maximum of six months at a time. Grant length varies based on available funding and the number of qualified applicants.
To be eligible for the grant, you must:
be registered with the intention of completing a degree at SLU;
take the responsibility for finding your own internship place which your course leader must approve;
complete a language proficiency test before and after your internship;
live in the country of your internship during the entire internship period;
NOT receive any other scholarships from the EU or UHR during the same mobility period;
after the internship has been completed, must complete a survey of participation and submit a brief report that other students can read;
submit a certificate from your internship host confirming that you have completed the entire internship period.
If you do not meet these conditions, you may have to pay back part or all of your grant.

Apply for an Erasmus+ internship grant
The application for the Erasmus+ internship grant should be submitted no later than two months before the internship begins. The application is open from 15 January to 31 May and from 15 August to 1 December. You can submit your application through the Moveon portal. In this portal, you will find all the necessary information about the application process and the documents you must submit with your application.
Students are eligible to receive Erasmus+ grants for up to 12 months during their degree programme. However, eligibility does not automatically mean that a grant will be awarded. Where funding is limited and selection is necessary, priority will be given to students who:
have not previously received an Erasmus+ grant from SLU;
are planning a traineeship as part of their degree, either for a degree project or for an internship course;
are enrolled in an SLU programme with limited opportunities for exchange studies;
have submitted a complete and accurate application, including all required documentation, at least two months before the planned start of the traineeship;
have progressed through studies at SLU as planned, without any periods of absence (approved leave on special grounds is acceptable);
have applied for a traineeship with a relevant organisation, with duties that are appropriate to the applicant’s academic subject area;
have applied for a traineeship in a country other than their home country.
If your application is accepted
When your internship begins, you must ask your host to fill in the form “Confirmation of start of internship” and upload it in the Moveon portal.
During the last week of your internship, a similar form must also be completed called “Confirmation of end of internship,” which should also be uploaded in the Moveon portal.
