The Department of Clinical Sciences (KV) hereby announces a 3-year clinical training position in Veterinary Medical Dermatology.
About the position
|
Clinical work within the field of dermatology at the University Animal Hospital (UDS). This includes participation in undergraduate teaching (as a clinical instructor), clinical research within the program, and departmental duties to a limited extent. Work during evenings, nights, and weekends may occur. The ProgramThe residency program follows the framework established by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). The program runs over 3 years. It primarily involves specialization in dermatology, mainly small animals, but also rotations involving other species such as horses, as well as related-area training/research assignments and study time amounting to approximately 30% of the total. After completing the program, the candidate is expected to sit for the ECVD examination to obtain Diplomate status (European Specialist). |

To be eligible for the position, the applicant must have a veterinary degree and the right to practice veterinary medicine in Sweden, as well as a background in mixed small-animal practice under the supervision of an experienced clinician/mentor corresponding to 1–2 years (Internship). Furthermore, the position requires good knowledge of English, and since the employment involves extensive contact with animal owners and students, you need to have, or acquire, proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Teaching and research experience in the field is considered an merit. As a person, you are communicative with a good ability to create and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues. You are organized, methodical, have good self-awareness, can handle stressful situations well, and have a desire to contribute to the organization. Selection among eligible applicants will be based on a written application including a verified CV, thesis, personal references, and an interview.
