Student influence

As a student, you can influence both the content and structure of courses and study programmes and your working environment/study environment. Students have a right to be involved in matters related to their studies. You can do this by joining a students' union, doing the course evaluations or becoming a student representative. On this page, you will find more information on how to get involved and SLU's work with student influence.

What can I do?

There are many ways in which you can influence your education and you working environment/study environment. You can choose to engage by joining a student union, completing course and programme evaluations, and/or becoming a student representative.

Always complete the course evaluation at the end of each course, as well as the programme evaluation upon completion of your programme studies. This gives you the opportunity to express your views on what worked well and what could be improved.

Bli medlem i en av SLU:s sju studentkårer! Du kan välja att själv bli  studentrepresentant eller var med och påverka vilka som ska företräda studenterna och vilka frågor de ska driva. Läs mer om studiebevakning.

Become a member of the students' union. You will then be able to influence who is appointed as student representatives and what issues they should focus on. Read more about education monitoring.

What does SLU do?

Educational matters are handled at all levels of the university’s organisation. There is a programme committee which discusses and decides on issues relating to your education. There are student representatives on all the committees, councils and boards that deal with educational issues at SLU.

Every students’ union at SLU must have a student health and safety representative who serves as an important link between the students and the university in promoting a good study and working environment.
