Forestry and forest products

The course deals with how forestry is conducted in the Nordic countries and covers the entire chain from nursery to the customer of a processed product with a focus on raw material production. International outlooks outside the Nordic countries are made, but the main focus is northern European forestry, which is a forestry with multiple purposes. The course content focus on forests and forestry to provide raw material to the forest industry and simultaneously provide a wide range of other ecosystem services.


The course is conducted with lectures, literature studies, seminars, study visits and excursions. Excursions, study visits and seminars are compulsory modules.


The Forestry Science content is divided into sub-areas as follows:



  • 6 credits Work processes



  • 5 credits Natural processes



  • 4 credits Objective, planning and policy
