
Welcome to the 11th Congress of the European Society for Agricultural and Food Ethics!
"The Ethics of Consumption: The Citizen, The Market, and The Law" in Uppsala, Sweden, September 11-14, 2013
Please note some important Information for all who have submitted a paper to the conference volume published by Wageningen Academic Press: all presenting authors need to register before 21st May 2013 in order to have their paper included the publication. (Please use link to registration to the right).
For students who whish to apply for a scholarship/bursary: Please go to the registration. As you register, you will be given the question whether you want tro apply for a bursary. (It is not necessary to pay as you register - this can be done later.)
Conference programme: The congress will start with a reception in the evening of Wednesday 11th September, and the first presentations will be at 9 am on Thursday 12th September. Also Friday and Saturday program starts at 9 am. Friday evening there is a conference dinner (included in price). The conference ends after lunch on Saturday 14th.
There has been a change of Key note speaker: Professor Soraj Hongladarom, Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, will replace Ian Robertson. Please see link 'Invited speakers' to the right.
On Wednesday, there is a possibilty to participate in a satellite event, the Mistra Biotech Workshop on Ethics and Biotechnology in Agriculture. The workshop is still open for submissions of contributions - see the link for CfP and more information! The congress ends at lunchtime on Saturday 14th September. A preliminary programme will be posted here on the web site as details become available.
EurSafe 2013 is a forum for discussion of ethical issues at the intersection between social, economic and legal aspects of consumption of food and agricultural products. The congress has three main sub themes connected to the overall issue of ethical consumption. However, general contributions to food and agricultural ethics are also welcome. Selected and peer-reviewed papers will be published in a traditional EurSafe manner in a proceeding book, published by Wageningen Academic Publishers and distributed to all conference participants.
The review process of full papers is running,a nd notification will eb sent out around May 2 nd. Full papers ann reviews are to be submittet through the OASES system, http://oases.wageningenacademic.com/ using the same login details as when the abstract was submitted.
