Odd Höglund, professor of small animal surgery

Odd Höglund's main research area is the development and evaluation of new surgical techniques and products for quicker, easier and safer surgery. The choice of materials – mainly resorbable polymers and ceramic materials – is done in close collaboration with other universities, and the manufacturing development work is carried out together with the medical device industry in Uppsala and abroad. Another area of ​​research is methods for objective measurements of stress levels in patients during surgery, for use in comparisons of different surgical techniques or anaesthetic protocols.
