One of the most important goals for the Future Platforms is to develop interdisciplinary working methods at SLU by initiating and enabling collaboration across scientific disciplinary boundaries.
Science for policy
Political processes and decisions are important in the strive to achieve a sustainable food system. One of SLU Future Foods' missions is to work with science for policy, to facilitate science based decition making.
Future perspectives
With more knowledge about how future issues can be formulated, explored, reviewed and presented, research can become more relevant to the future and have a greater impact on both decision-makers and funders.

SLU Future Food is run by a programme director appointed by the dean of the NJ Faculty. The programme director, together with the programme secretary and the communications officers make up the platform staff.
