Living labs

Living labs are places and learning arenas where different actors can jointly test, understand, and develop solutions to complex challenges. The purpose of living labs is to experiment with new processes and methods that would otherwise be difficult to implement in conventional urban environments, and to monitor the social and physical effects of these process experiments in order to provide a robust, transferable knowledge base for further learning.

SOIL Botildenborg

Från källare till kök

Från källare till kök is a living lab project that is part of SOIL Botildenborg. The project's goal is to find a new method for property owners and urban planners to create innovative areas with new ways of using existing environments, in this case basements, and contribute to social meeting places while increasing the self-sufficiency of residents.

Fokus Söderslätt

What can cities learn from rural areas – and vice versa? SLU Urban Futures is part of a collaboration with the City of Malmö, Svedala Municipality, and Botildenborg to focus on the Söderslätt region with a clear vision: to bring cities and rural areas closer together for a sustainable future.
