Student worker, marine ecosystem analysis
Department of Aquatic Resources (SLU Aqua)
The position is for student worker under the Central collective agreements. It concerns a part-time position over two semesters at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden, to be combined with ongoing full-time studies at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
About the position
Your task is to assist researchers in analyses, report editing, internal and external project communication. You will work in a research team at the Department of Aquatic Resources. The team’s research is focused on coastal and marine ecosystem analysis and on developing tools to support environmental management, ecosystem-based fisheries management, restoration and marine spatial planning. The position is linked to ongoing projects on these topics, including the EU-projects MSP4MORE (Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership) and MORSE (Horizon Europe).
Your profile
We are looking for a dedicated student in ecology, environmental science, science communication, or a related field. Key personal qualities include the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, a structured, organized approach to your work, and a genuine interest in research.
Requirements: In order to be employed as a student worker, the student must have completed studies corresponding to at least 60 credits, be pursuing full-time studies and must not have started a doctoral programme.
The following qualifications are considered meriting: i) knowledge about the Baltic Sea and North Sea socio-ecosystems, ii) proven ability in science communication, iii) demonstrated experience in scientific analyses or iv) in some of the focal themes of the team’s research as listed under Tasks.
