The project “From Basement to Kitchen” transforms empty basement spaces in million-program areas into cultivation sites and meeting rooms for sustainability, health, and community. This fall, an exhibition featuring illustrations from the project will be on display at Form/Design Center in Malmö.

Start date: 6 September 2025 00:00

End date: 19 October 2025 00:00

Organiser: Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences SLU, Form/Design Center, and Botildenborg

Venue: Form/Design Center in Malmö, floor 2

Location: Other location

From Basement to Kitchen is an innovation project that serves as a prototype—meaning a short, focused initiative to demonstrate change in society. The project aims to create a circular, attractive, and resilient environment for residents in areas built under the Million Program.

The exhibition seeks to stimulate ideas about how we can create social meeting places, but also to discuss preparedness and entrepreneurship. A series of program items are linked to the exhibition and will be presented in due course.
