The first session will be opened by Vice-Chancellor Mia Knutson Wedel, who will inaugurate the SLU initiative Studium Generale and talk about the need for education in higher education. Jonna Bornemark, professor of philosophy at Södertörn University, will follow with a lecture on the importance of emotions for reasoning and how this insight can help us change our perspectives. After the lecture, there will be an opportunity to reflect on the theme together at each location in a light-hearted workshop format.
The premiere will take place at all three main campuses simultaneously, and the library will offer a light lunch to those who stay after the lecture.
A warm welcome!
About Studium Generale
In today's world, few skills are as important as being able to reflect on your own opinions and behaviour: what has made me think the way I do? What do I know that I know and what do I take for granted? Inspired by Dutch and German universities, SLU is now launching Studium Generale - a series of activities for students and staff focusing on joint reflection on current topics. Nothing is compulsory, nothing is recorded - it's an opportunity to test your thoughts without being judged.
