Food fish and jobs in rural areas
For over 30 years, Josef Nygren has worked to improve the conditions for aquaculture in northern Sweden. He has shown that it is possible to farm high-quality food fish in ice-covered hydropower reservoirs while also creating new jobs in rural areas.
As part of his appointment as one of SLU’s honorary doctors in 2025, he is visiting Umeå. Over lunch, he will share his background and work – and there will be time for questions.
