Biography
Dr. Chris Hunt is research chemist at the USDA Forest Products Laboratory (FPL) in Madison WI who started working with soy protein adhesives with Charles Frihart in 2007. Since 2022 Chris has led the FPL protein adhesive program in collaboration with Solenis LLC (maker of Soyad), the United Soybean Board, and other industrial partners. His focus is on understanding the structure and mechanisms that contribute to protein adhesive performance. His talk will share his current understanding of protein adhesive structures, how these structures impact performance, and potential avenues for improvement.
