It is time for a new round of doctoral students at SLU Forest Damage Centre's research school, starting in 2027. We are therefore holding a start-up meeting where the needs of the forestry sector and authorities can be presented.

Date: 20 March 2026

Time: 09:30 - 11:30

Last day of registration: 18 March 2026

Organiser: SLU Forest Damage Centre

Location: Online

It is time for a new round of doctoral students at SLU Forest Damage Centre's research school, starting in 2027.

We are therefore planning to announce a call for doctoral projects before the summer. We welcome projects that are relevant to our landowners, authorities and others.

We are therefore inviting researchers, landowners, authorities and other relevant actors in the forestry sector to a start-up meeting prior to the call, where there will be an opportunity to highlight any needs and issues in the field of forest damage that may require answers from research.

Another meeting is planned for later (6 May) where researchers will have the opportunity to briefly present project ideas.

Researchers and representatives of the sector are encouraged to participate on both occasions.

Schedule:

20 March (09:30-11:30), meeting 1 (online), representatives from landowners and authorities present research questions relevant to their activities

6 May (10:00-12:00), meeting 2 (online), researchers briefly present their project ideas in response to research questions raised during meeting 1

June: SLU Forest Damage Centre opens the call for new doctoral projects

September: The call closes.

Decisions can be expected in November/December
