After completing the course, doctoral students are expected to be able to critically analyze and discuss ecological theories related to forest ecosystem processes and apply them to current and future forest management perspectives. They will be able to use scientific theory and evidence to formulate, analyze, and address relevant research questions within sustainable forest management. Students will also be able to critically evaluate the relationship between forest research and management practices, and apply scientific knowledge to ongoing debates about forestry methods and societal demands on forests.
