Speakers from Ghana Food Movement will describe its Ghana Plate project. All SLU students are welcome to join in.
Date: 13 May 2026
Time: 11:00
Venue: Biosfären, MVM building, Lennart Hjelms väg 9
Organiser: Department of Energy and Technology, SLU
Location: Online, Uppsala
The project is developed in partnership with Reformaten, which aims to transform school food environments in Ghana by integrating nutritious, locally grown indigenous crops into school meals. It outlines the challenge of malnutrition despite the country’s rich food diversity, and presents a collaborative approach that brings together farmers, caterers, chefs, nutritionists, and schools to co-create affordable, culturally relevant meals.
Ghana Food Movement will also highlight pilot activities, research and evaluation methods, and long-term goals to scale the model across schools while improving dietary diversity, supporting local agriculture, and influencing food policy.
Members of the Reformaten team will briefly introduce themselves and their role in the Ghana Plate project. This is a great opportunity to meet the participants and network.
