Future path: Research Meets Practice

Welcome to a joint career and collaboration-oriented event between the LTV faculty and the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre in Alnarp.

Date: 5 May 2026

Time: 09:00 - 16:00

Language: English

Location: Alnarp

Come meet with PhD students and postdocs who are seeking contacts outside of academia.

Many of the participating PhD students are in their 1st–3rd year, giving companies a unique opportunity to identify and engage top talent early, and help shape their skills to match future needs. At the same time, the event provides direct access to PhD graduates and postdocs for immediate recruitment or project collaboration.

Most of the PhD students and postdocs participating in this event from the LTV-faculty are linked to themes around plant breeding, plant health and plant protection, crop production and agroecology. Forestry PhD students research focuses on a variety of topics such as policy, pathology, silviculture and ecology and represent the core of the department research activities.

The event also enables companies to:

  • Increase visibility among highly motivated early-career researchers
  • Position themselves as attractive employers committed to supporting the next generation
  • Gain insights into emerging research trends and innovative ideas
  • Contribute to shaping future skills and competencies in their field

Join us to spot talent early, boost your visibility, and help shape the future of your field!

Program

• The day begins with parallel morning sessions hosted by LTV (09.00) and SSFRC (10.00), where students and company representatives will share their research, ideas, and ongoing projects.

• In the afternoon, the two faculties come together for a more interactive programme -opening up space for cross-disciplinary conversations, and new connections. Speed networking and small roundtable discussions might be used to spark collaboration!
