The Plenary provides a unique multistakeholders platform for inclusive dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to advance global efforts towards ending hunger and malnutrition. It will bring together governments, United Nations agencies, civil society and non-governmental organizations, Indigenous Peoples, international agricultural research systems, international and regional financial institutions, private sector, and observers.

The Plenary will feature high-level sessions on the latest global trends and challenges and policy dialogues on strengthening coordinated responses to global food crises. It will look ahead to priorities for the CFS Multi-Year Programme of Work and the pathways towards and beyond 2030, considering the latest evidence-based Note on critical, emerging and enduring issues prepared by the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition.

Among the highlights are discussions on the state of food security and nutrition in the world, the outcomes of the International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ICARRD+20), and the outcomes of the High-Level Forum on Harnessing Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization and Data Governance for Food Security and Nutrition and the Dialogues on Collaborative Governance. The Plenary will also reflect on the critical importance of building resilient food systems, while focusing on family farming and Indigenous Peoples’ food and knowledge systems and traditional practices for sustainable food systems.

In addition, a dedicated session will showcase how CFS policy recommendations and voluntary guidelines are informing policies and action at country level, sharing experiences, challenges and lessons learned, and how these approaches contribute to better food security and nutrition outcomes for all.
