Worth Knowing: Is there enough food?
It is often said that "every other bite is imported" in Sweden, but is that true? And if so, would there be enough food if a crisis struck and we were no longer able to source it from abroad? Rasmus Einarsson tells us more in a lunchtime lecture.

How much of the food we eat in Sweden is produced in Sweden? What does this amount to in terms of energy, protein, fat, fruit and vegetables on an annual basis? Would it suffice in the event of a crisis? Rasmus Einarsson reviews the current situation and shares his thoughts on how we might approach self-sufficiency and food security during uncertain times. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation!
Rasmus Einarsson is a researcher in sustainable food systems with a special interest in modelling resource use and emissions in European agriculture and food systems.
This Worth Know is arranged as one of the events surrounding the exhibition Ancient Soil/Future Food, which is being shown November 9–27 at the entrance of BioCenter (Almas Allé 5).
