Making biodiversity data available via SBDI, SLU Swedish Species Information Centre and GBIF

Do you collect data on species and biodiversity and want more people to be able to find and use it? Then this webinar is for you.

Date: 3 December 2026

Time: 10:00 - 11:00

Language: Swedish

Organiser: SLU University Library

Location: Online

Registration to: miljodatastod@slu.se

Representatives from the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI), GBIF Sweden, SLU Swedish Species Information Centre and the Department of Wildlife, Fish, and Environmental Studies will discuss various ways of making biodiversity information openly available. You will learn which types of data are suitable for publication via SBDI and which are best suited to SLU Swedish Species Information Centre’s system. We will then explain how this works in practice. We will also explain how data becomes searchable and usable by others, both nationally via SBDI and internationally via the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Finally, we will present a new workflow for easily publishing wildlife camera data – both observations and metadata – in GBIF.

The presentations will be followed by a session for questions and discussion.

The webinar is aimed at those working with environmental monitoring and assessment or research and is open to everyone at SLU. If you would like to take part, please contact miljodatastod@slu.se and we will send you an invitation via Outlook.
