Climate conversation brings new thoughts for the future

The climate conversation, hosted by SLU Global and SLU Future Food, gathered academics, students and other interested from a range of different organisations, universities and countries in Europe, Africa, US and Asia. 

With excellent speakers presenting their field of expertise and after took part of an inspiring panel discussion on the theme "How should we adapt food production under climate change?" they gave the audience new knowledge and thoughts to bring with them in their future work. 

Debra Robets, co-author to the latest part of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, who joined the webinar from South Africa, talked about the report and its´ conclusions. 

Harry Fischer and Jennie Barron, both from SLU, talked together with Stephen Mureithi, University of Nairobi, about new research, available tools and how to better adapt to climate changes. They all agreed that there is an existent gap between research and practice, and that we have to put more attention on long-term adaptation to avoid catastrophes due to drought and floods etc. Technical solutions can help but is not enough to solve all problems.
