International fieldwork scholarships for your thesis
Do you want to carry out fieldwork in a low- or middle-income country for your thesis? SLU students have now the opportunity to do field work and collect data for their theses in a country where the Swedish Government has active strategies for development cooperation.
SLU manages Erasmus+ scholarships (funded by the European Commission) and Minor Field Study scholarships (funded by Sida). You can apply for both types of scholarship with the same application, but only be granted one of them.
NOTE!
Due to cuts from Sida, the MFS scholarship amount is reduced to SEK 25,000 and the period of the fieldwork should be at least 6 consecutive weeks (previously 8 weeks) for the MFS scholsrship.
For information about the cuts, please go to the web page Aktuellt i programmet - Stockholms universitet
Deadline 25 March
Deadline for the next application round is 25 March at 4 pm, for students doing their fieldwork during autumn 2026.
Instructions and application form can be found here.
