Thematic study: Aquatic food systems
The transformation of aquatic food systems below the Sahara has the potential to boost trade and consumption of diverse, healthy and protein-rich food products. This study reports on an initiative – carried out by AGRINATURA under the SASi-SPi program – to empower multi-stakeholder consultations in developing options for the sustainable transformation of aquatic food systems below the Sahara. The study addresses the following questions: Why to invest in aquatic food systems below the Sahara? What kind of issues such investments address? How to operationalize the proposed investment options considering trade-offs?
