Announcement of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences 2025

On 13 October 2025, the Department of Economics hosted an event to follow the announcement of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2025.

The announcement was live streamed in Ulls hus, with snacks and drinks as well! Afterwards, Professor Rob Hart provided commentary on the results. Both staff and students were invited.

The winners were:

  • Joel Mokyr: Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA and Eitan Berglas School of Economics, Tel Aviv University, Israel
  • Philippe Aghion: Collège de France and INSEAD, Paris, France, The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK
  • Peter Howitt: Brown University, Providence, RI, USA
