AgriFoSe2030 presenting impacts and outcomes at RUFORUM General Assembly
This week, the Annual General Assembly (AGA) for RUFORUM is taking place in Gaborone, Botswana. AgriFoSe2030 has a delegation on site to present the programme, collaborations and outcomes.
The delegation, represented by Professor Cecilia Onyango (University of Nairobi), Professor Robert Musundire (Chinhoyi University of Technology) and Peter Musinguzi (Kyambogo University), is establishing the knowledge about the AgriFoSe2030 programme and what it has achieved for local communities. They highlight practical examples of science-based interventions for food improving food security. These include initiatives for women empowerment, livelihood improvement for smallholder farmers, food system governance by local governments, resilient food systems and more stable incomes for smallholder farmers, women and youth.
Professor Cecilia Onyango, hub-leader in Kenya, presented the programme for the gathered assembly, focusing on the Theory of Change methodology, impacts and importance of collaborations between research, academia and local communities.
