Growing interest in SLU’s international programmes
Interest in SLU’s international programmes continues to grow.
When applications for the international master’s admissions round, as well as for international courses and programmes, closed on 15 January, it became clear that the number of applicants had increased for the third year in a row.
Compared with the previous year, applications to international master’s programmes increased by approximately 8 per cent, while the number of first-choice applications rose by around 5 per cent. This indicates that SLU continues to attract students from around the world.
The increase reflects growing international interest in SLU’s programmes and the university’s strong position in sustainable development, natural resources and the life sciences. Education, research and student life together contribute to making SLU an attractive choice for international students.
“There is great potential in recruiting international students, and it is inspiring to represent a university with a strong international profile. At the same time, meeting with students provides valuable and strategically important insights into their needs, how trends are changing, and how SLU can continue to develop as a relevant and attractive university – both now and in the future,” says Elin Helgsten, who works with international student recruitment at the Communications Department.
