AgriFoSe2030 researcher invited to join National Agricultural Research Council (ARC) Working Group in Zimbabwe

News published:  19/03/2026

AgriFoSe2030 is strengthening its collaboration with Zimbabwe’s agricultural research sector following a successful three-day workshop on Science Translation held at the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT).

The workshop focused on building the capacity of staff from research and policy institutes across seven Southern African countries to turn agricultural research into actionable policy and development outcomes.

As a result of this engagement, Professor Robert Musundire, who led the training, has been invited to join the Zimbabwean National Agricultural Research Council (ARC) Working Group, recognising the contribution and expertise brought through the recent course. The Working Group, chaired by the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development, has taken keen interest in how science translation supports evidence-based decision-making and strengthens collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and local communities. Discussions are expected to focus on strategies to integrate scientific knowledge into national agricultural policy and practice.

“This is an exciting opportunity to practically deploy and share AgriFoSe2030’s Science Translation methods with key decision-makers, supporting efforts to advance agricultural research for sustainable development,” said Professor Musundire.
