Presentation

Ameenat is a PhD student. She is working on the research project linked with NextGenCarbon. She is studying the detailed process of carbon assimilation by plants in order to provide estimates of the actual photosynthesis rate and detect early stress in vegetation based on fluorescence measurements. She has a background in forestry and environmental sciences, and she is deeply interested in the use of remote sensing and GIS applications for forest sustainability.

Research

The remote sensing of solar-induced fluorescence is a growing application of remote sensing that enables the monitoring of photosynthesis rates and the assessment of carbon uptake by plants.

This study will investigate how key fluorescence parameters can be utilized to evaluate photosynthetic performance and identify potential causes of changes in photosynthesis and overall plant health.
