Anna Bengtsson
Presentation
Anna works across teaching and research at the intersection of landscape architecture and environmental psychology, with a particular emphasis on the role of outdoor environments in supporting human health and well-being.
Her research is grounded in theories of restorative and supportive environments and aims to develop and test models and tools for use in healthcare settings and public spaces. The work is often carried out in close collaboration with practitioners, using participatory and transdisciplinary methods to bridge the gap between research and practice.
Anna earned her PhD in 2015 with the dissertation “From experiences of the outdoors to the design of healthcare environments.” She teaches several courses on health-promoting outdoor environments and has led and examined a wide range of courses at SLU since 2005.
Her personal goal is to deepen her understanding of design that places human health and well-being at the centre, and through this, to further develop both practical and theoretical knowledge in landscape architecture and environmental psychology.
