Bharathi Boddu

Doctoral student, Department of Plant Breeding

Presentation

I am a doctoral student in the Department of Plant Breeding at SLU Alnarp, working on RNA-based crop protection using spray-induced gene silenicng (SIGS) in collaboration with Findus.

Research

My research focuses on using SIGS to control pea downy mildew by identifying dsRNA target genes and developing nano-delivery platforms to improve RNA stability and uptake. I combine controlled infection assays with molecular analyses to support scalable, environmentally safe alternatives to conventional fungicides.
