Presentation
After graduating as a veterinarian, I worked in small animal clinical practice for several years before joining SLU in 2015. Initially, my teaching focused mainly on meat inspection, but since then my work and expertise have broadened to encompass much of the field of veterinary public health. Today, I teach subjects including food safety, bacteriology and epizootiology.
I am a resident of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH), subspecialty Food Science.
Teaching
Teaching
I teach primarily within the Veterinary Medicine programme in the areas of veterinary public health and food safety. I am a co-course leader for Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Clinical Veterinary Medicine 2 and Clinical Veterinary Medicine 3, where I teach meat inspection and food control. I also have a major teaching role and share responsibility for the Food Safety course. In addition, I teach bacteriology and epizootiology.
I have a particular interest in educational development and in developing teaching approaches that enable students to actively apply their knowledge and practise decision-making in authentic situations.
Pedagogical merits
In 2016, I was awarded the SLU Pedagogical Prize. In the same year, I also received funding for pedagogical development to further develop teaching.
