Presentation

I recieved my master degree in Animal Science at SLU in 2014. In my thesis, I conducted an analysis of the results from the linear assessment that had recently been introduced at the Young Horse Test for Swedish Warmblood (SWB) horses . From 2021 to 2023, I worked on a licentiate project at SLU, where we investigated the specialization into show jumping and dressage in the SWB breed, as well as the associations between linearly scored traits and competition performance.

I have always had a strong horse interest in horses. I am an active rider myself, competing up to advanced level in show jumping. I am also graduated at Flyinge as 'young horse educater' and I have run my own business since 2014, focusing on breaking in and training young horses. Breeding show jumping horses is also an interest of mine, and I have bred several SWB horses.

Research

I recieved my licentiate degree in 2023 and have now continued my doctoral studies with a new project connected to my previously research . With funding from the Swedish-Norwegian Foundation for Equine Research, me and my supervisors will investigate the associations between linearly scored traits and orthopedic diagnoses in the SWB breed.

The project will provide knowledge about important traits for sound and high-performing sport horses. This knowledge is valuable for both individual breeders and breeding organizations and is crucial for sustainable horse production and good horse welfare.

The main supervisor is Åsa Gelinder Viklund. The supervisory team also includes Susanne Eriksson, Erling Strandberg, and Elin Hernlund.
