Malin Connysson

In 2002, I obtained my degree in Animal Science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala. In 2018, I completed my PhD with the thesis "Physiological Responses in Trained Standardbred Horses to Forage Diets, Transport and Housing".

I have had a passionate interest in horses, particularly Standardbred racehorses, since my teenage years. I have been fortunate enough to combine this interest with my professional career. Today, I am involved in several research projects focusing on high-performance horses, and I teach both at SLU and to professionals working in the equine industry.

My research focuses on performance horses and how they are affected by training, feeding, management, and equipment.

I teach physiology in the Agronomy programs in Animal Science and Food Science, as well as in the Veterinary Medicine program. I also teach equine nutrition on the Equine Science program at Wången. I supervise and examine degree projects within the Equine Science, Animal Science, and Veterinary Medicine programs.

Outside the university, I teach in the A-license trainer program and in exercise physiology courses at Hästsportens folkhögskola. I also give lectures to external audiences.
