Björn Elfving

Born 19430618, Master of Forestry 1968, PhD in Forestry 1975, Professor of Forest Growth and Yield 1981, Emeritus 2010. My scientific publication can be found on Research Gate.

My research has been directed on models for forest establishment and development in the projects Hugin and Heureka, resulting in planning tools for Swedish forestry. I have planned and followed long-term experiments for different tree species, forestry operations and site conditions. Try now to inspire new researchers to update Heureka for growth predictions at continuous cover forestry.

A lot of lectures for master students at SLU and Umeå University and on courses given by the Swedish Forest Agency. Supervisor for around 30 master students and 15 PhD thesis. Leader of several PhD-courses in forest growth and yield and written a compendium for this.
