Presentation
Abdulghani Hasan holds a PhD in Hydrology and GIS from Lund University and has previously worked at Lund University and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI). His expertise covers large-scale hydrological modelling, urban flood risk management, and the design of sustainable climate adaptation strategies. He co-developed the TFM-DYN algorithm and contributed to global catchment modelling using the World-Wide HYPE model. His work integrates advanced GIS methods with hydrological process modelling, with a particular focus on solving flooding challenges in data-scarce regions. As co-founder of PluvioFlow, he develops user-friendly flood prediction tools to support climate adaptation in both urban and rural areas. He is currently researching blue-green infrastructures and networked nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate-resilient urban planning by translating innovative hydrological science into practical solutions for stakeholders and decision-makers.
