Presentation

Researcher and lecturer, ecologist; associate professor

My interests are biodiversity, nature conservation, landscape ecology and green infrastructure planning in rural, peri-urban and urban landscapes.

Research

In my research I have worked with issues concerning biodiversity and landscape ecology and in particular with butterflies. The development and planning of multifunctional green structure has been another topic that I have studied (in interdisciplinary research groups). Recent project address restoration issues (rewetting, restoration of semi-natural grasslands).

Research projects

Environment analysis

Ongoing FOMA (Environmental analysis) project:

Indicators and monitoring of urban biodiversity - Swedish municipalities' approaches and methods

Teaching

Examiner of the course  "Biological systems of the landscape" for first year undergraduate landscape architect students. Teaching in courses at undergraduate and graduate level on biodiversity, landscape ecology, ecological design.

Background

Master (Diploma) in Biology (nature conservation) from Philipps Universität Marburg, Germany (1995)

PhD from SLU, Department of Landscape Planning, Alnarp (2003)
