Presentation
I analyze environmental and agronomic data to evaluate agricultural sustainability, focusing on regenerative agriculture, livestock systems, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Methodologically, I utilize Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based on ISO/IPCC guidelines, carbon footprinting, and soil carbon and nitrogen analysis to assess greenhouse gas emissions and quantify ecosystem services (ES). I connect field and laboratory data from dryland agro-silvo-pastoral systems with structured frameworks like Total Economic Value (TEV) and CICES. Ultimately, my work provides the consistent data needed to inform climate policy and advance sustainable food systems.
Research
My research focuses on evaluating the environmental footprints, sustainability, and ecosystem services of agricultural and livestock systems. Currently, I work on soil health assessment, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and ecosystem services evaluation across regional Living Labs. By integrating field and laboratory data, I investigate how different management strategies impact soil dynamics and greenhouse gas emissions to support resilient food systems.
Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher applying LCA methodologies to assess the environmental footprints and sustainability metrics of crop production systems across multiple Mediterranean countries. I have also contributed to multidisciplinary projects evaluating climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and land degradation mitigation within dryland agro-silvo-pastoral systems.
Overall, my research areas include regenerative agriculture, livestock systems, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), and carbon accounting. I apply structured frameworks such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based on ISO/IPCC guidelines, soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics, and ecosystem services classifications to translate scientific data into practical benefits and clear insights for farmers, researchers, and policymakers
